What our clients say

The weird thing is, I have no idea how I managed to find Emma – I think fate was involved so I wanted to make it easier for other people to discover the wonder that is Emma!

I had contacted someone who made soft furnishings about recovering some seat cushions and during that conversation I asked this person if they made curtains and blinds or knew of anyone else that made them. The lady said that she had heard of someone who was meant to be excellent but she didn’t have her telephone number. I asked if she could locate a contact number and pass it on to me which she kindly did and then I called Emma. So far so ordinary! Except that Emma and I have not been able to establish during our conversations who this lady is – I have no idea who I originally called and Emma has no idea who recommended her. That’s the bit where fate intervened because I don’t think I would have found Emma otherwise!

Anyway, Emma and I met and had numerous meetings and discussions about what I wanted for my home – we were in the throes of building work and it was hard to envisage anything looking good at that stage. Our conversations were always wide ranging – she is the easiest person to talk to and great fun to spend time with.

Emma did her best to persuade me towards using colour in the window dressings for the house and I resisted at every turn, preferring neutrals and texture rather than anything too bold and bright. It doesn’t matter if you have a different taste to Emma because she loves fabric and loves her work but above all, she wants her customers to be happy. I know it’s a cliché but it’s true.

I recommended Emma to a friend whose house was being renovated and she has had the same positive experience and she also has expertly made curtains and blinds too.

We have now finished the building work on our house and all the rooms have been furnished and the windows dressed – curtains for a more decorative look or roman blinds for a simpler window treatment.

My kitchen has a 2.4metre wide window overlooking fields.  When Emma asked what I wanted to do with this window, I replied, firmly, ‘nothing’.  Emma asked if I had considered Roman blinds. ‘No, I don’t like Roman blinds’, I replied.  Emma patiently explained how a Roman blind would ‘complete’ the look of the kitchen, whilst also being very practical, but was very clear that if I wanted to do nothing that was ok too.  Suffice to say, I now have a Roman blind made from Sarah Hardaker linen in my kitchen.  It complements the room perfectly and Emma was absolutely right – doing nothing would have been a very big mistake!

Emma was an absolute delight to work with from start to finish, and her work is incredible.  My curtains and Roman blinds make me smile – what more can I say?
